Who is the Pawn Shop Presents?

Most often found in delinquent neighborhoods where crime, corruption and violence are commonplace, pawn shops are urban way-stations where objects of hope are traded for a handful of cash. Like the films of the Pawn Shop Presents, each of these items tells a story, some tragic, some romantic, some morbid, but most always fascinating.

The Pawn Shop Presents is the marquee for the cinematic ventures of writer/director Alex Pearcy. A student of filmmaking and screenwriting at San Francisco State University and New York University, Alex’s path to filmmaking toiled first through years on stages in nightclubs and bars as a working musician. Alex’s award winning short films have screened abroad at festivals from France to Russia, and in the US from New York to Los Angeles and many places in between. The Pawn Shop Presents is currently developing its first feature film Ten Dollar Man, a rodeo/noir tale set in the 1970’s.
